Take a walking sightseeing tour of Sofia – visit the Saint Nedelya Church, the Statue of St Sofia – the symbol of the city, the Parliament square, the Presidency, the National Theater, the Ruins of Serdica and the Rotunda St George, the Saint Sophia early Christian basilica, which has given the city its name, the St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral – the biggest and the most beautiful on the Balkan Peninsula, the Monument of Alexander II – Tzar Liberator, the Parliament. Reminder of the day – time at leisure to further explore the city of Sofia. Overnight.

Departure to Kazanlak. On the way – visit a rose distillery where you will get more information about the rose industry in Bulgaria. Here you will also see the process of boiling the rose oil. Before your eyes the petals will turn into oil.
Arrive in the town of Kazanlak. Visit the Museum of the Rose where you will see authentic artifacts dating to the 18th century when the first producers, local families from Kazanlak started to extract oil from the rose petals.
Another exciting visit is the Thracian Tomb of Kazanlak – the monument dates back to the 4th century BC (UNESCO). In the historical museum of Kazanlak – one of the richest and most interesting museums in Bulgaria. Numerous findings dating to the Thracian times will give you complete information about the Thracian culture and civilization.
In the evening – join the International Folklore festival.

Two main events mark the celebrations – harvesting ritual in the rose gardens and the parade along the main street of the town. After breakfast we will visit the Rose fields where we will take part in rose picking. At noon will start the Carnival parade.

In the afternoon – drive to the Golyamata Kosmatka Thracian Tomb dating to the 4th century BC, one of the biggest tombs of its kind in Europe. Next to it is the Russian Church situated in the foothills of the Balkan range. Its golden domes and the green and pink colored façade loom against the mountains and attract the attention of the travelers in the Shipka pass. Return to Kazanlak.
Overnight.

Departure to Plovdiv – the European Capital of Culture 2019. Take a walking sightseeing tour of Plovdiv. Visit the Old Town, declared architectural and historical reserve with over 150 monuments of culture. Included is a visit to the ancient Roman theater, 2nd century and the Roman stadium. Enjoy a beautiful view towards the city from the Nebet Tepe hill.
Departure to Sofia. Drop off at the airport or your hotel.
